How to add a Metric to a Function on the KFFM that is not owned by that Scorecard?

To add a metric to a Function that is not linked to that Scorecard - you will need to create the existing metric into a cascading metric. A cascading metric will allow for multiples of the same metric where each metric can then linked to different Scorecards.

To create a cascading metric from a pre-existing metric - create a new parent metric and match the owner to the KFFM Function that you want to link it to.

In this example: Alan owns the metric 'Total MRR' and it is linked to his Scorecard function 'CEO'.

We want this metric, 'Total MRR', to pull into the Finance Function on the KFFM owned by Ian Cruz.

How to do this: Create a new parent metric, name it 'Total MRR', it will be owned by Ian Cruz and link it to his Finance scorecard. In creating the new parent Metric, make sure the new metric has no data within it, and that it is the same type of metric as your existing metric for metric type (Count, Measurement or Flat).

Next link them by navigating to the metric which will become the child metric and in the properties on the right, select from the parent section dropdown, select the new parent metric that you just made.

The cascading metric is now set-up and the metrics are attached to the appropriate Scorecards.
