How Are Rolling Metrics Actuals Calculated?
Rolling Metrics helps track your progress throughout the year. Here’s an easy way to understand how Actuals and Annual Targets are calculated.
Count-Type Metrics
For Count-type metrics, the annual target adds together using the following:

Actuals from past quarters (quarters that are finished)
-
Targets from future quarters (quarters that haven’t finished yet)
Example:
If Q1 and Q2 are done, and Q3 and Q4 are upcoming:
Rolling Target = Q1 Actual + Q2 Actual + Q3 Target + Q3 Target
In the image below, this is set during Q3:

As this is set in Q3 and there are no Actuals for Q3 and Q4 quite yet, using the formula of Annual Target = Q1 Actual + Q2 Actual + Q3 Target + Q3 Target, the Annual Rolling Target would be:
Rolling Target (1825) = Q1 Actual (400) + Q2 Actual (425) + Q3 Target (500) + Q3 Target (500)
💡 Tip: The calculation will not include the Actual from a Quarter that has passed if it is blank for Count Metrics.
Flat and Measurement-Type Metrics
For Flat and Measurement-type metrics, the Actual is always the most recently entered value—quarterly values are not summed. The Annual Target also does not sum quarterly values; it reflects the year’s defined target or the latest Actual, depending on the metric setup.
