How do I delete a Metric?

In this article, we'll go over how to delete a Metric and some important considerations before doing so.

In Metronome, if you need to remove a metric, you can easily do so from the Metrics page. However, we'd like for you to keep in mind that deleting a metric will permanently remove all of its history.

How to delete a Metric:

  1. Navigate to the Metrics page.

  2. Click on the metric you wish to delete (it will highlight green).

  3. In the top right corner, click the More button.

  4. Select Delete Metric from the drop-down menu.

⚠️ Important: Deleting a metric is permanent and cannot be undone. All historical data tied to that metric will be lost.

How to stop tracking a Metric

If you'd like to retain the data but stop actively using the metric, you can stop tracking it instead. This will preserve the history without displaying it in your current views.

  1. Navigate to the Metrics page
  2. Click on the Metric you wish to stop tracking (it will highlight green)
  3. On the Metric settings window on the right, click on the Tracking (from/until) dropdown
  4. Click the drop down with the place holder text Ongoing
  5. Select the Quarter you want the metric to track until.
Note: the Quarter your select will still include the metric until the last day of that Quarter
