Tags are an essential feature for categorizing Action Items and customizing how they are pulled into different areas of the software, such as meetings.
Why Are Tags Important?
By using tags, you can:
-
Streamline the organization of Action Items across projects or teams.
-
Ensure that only relevant tasks are displayed in meetings or reports.
-
Enhance searchability and simplify task filtering.
Tags provide flexibility, allowing you to tailor your workflow to fit your team’s specific needs.
How to Use Tags for Action Items
Follow these steps to add and utilize tags effectively:
-
Add Tags to Action Items
-
Navigate to the relevant Action Item and click on the gear icon (Settings).
-
In the pop-up window, locate the Tags field.
-
Type in the desired tag. If the tag already exists, it will appear as a selectable option.
-
Select the tag or create a new one by typing and pressing Enter.
-
Save the changes by clicking Apply.
-
-
Search for Action Items by Tags
-
When setting up a meeting, use the agenda item type Action Items Search.
-
In the agenda item settings, find the Tags field.
-
Select the tag you want to use to filter Action Items.
-
The meeting will now display only the Action Items with the specified tag.
-
*Note: Action Items default to being private when set up. Even if you have tagged your Action Item, it won't be pulled into a meeting if the attendees aren't listed under the privacy settings.
Examples of Tag Usage
Here are some examples of how tags can be used to optimize your workflow:
-
Project-Specific Tags: Use tags like “Q1 Goals” or “Website Redesign” to group tasks by project.
-
Priority Tags: Create tags such as “Urgent” or “Backlog” to manage task urgency.
-
Departmental Tags: Organize tasks by department with tags like “Marketing” or “Development”.
Tags help ensure that the right tasks are discussed in the right context, providing clarity and focus for your team.
By leveraging tags effectively, you can improve task management, streamline meeting preparation, and ensure that your team stays aligned on key priorities. For further assistance with using tags, feel free to reach out to our support team at support@metronomegrowthsystems.com
